The L. D College of Engineering Alumni Association of Former Students ( also called here forth as LAA or LAA- US Chapter or Association) is committed to serving the L D College of Engineering- Ahmedabad Alumni. We are here to extend your LDCE experience long after you leave campus. While information about you is fundamental to our ability to do this, we fully recognize the importance of keeping personal information secure. Because we respect your right to privacy, we have always placed a high priority on protecting the personal information you provide us. We want you to understand our information safeguards, the information we collect, the information we share and the benefits when we share information about you.

Email Addresses
The Alumni Association is very protective of your email address. We do not sell or give email addresses away. We do use email to stay in touch with you, and if you so desire it is placed in the Online Directory of Former Students. If you do not want your email listed in the Online Directory you can indicate so when you update your information or contact us. The Association will use only use this email to send official correspondence which includes the E-Newsletter and which may include our partner/sponsored offers which would be send by us from the Alumni Domain. Your email information would not be shared to third party. The Association will also send out approved emails on behalf of organizations/Sponsors it recognizes. The emails we sent maybe targeted to specific audience as per the needs. If you are experiencing issues with receiving Spam or you just want to take more control of your inbox, please contact us.

Service Announcements
On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature and are for benefit of members. If users have questions or concerns regarding this statement, they should first contact Admin.

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address. Out of respect for our users privacy we provide a way to opt-out of these communications. Please contact us to disable this feature. As part of the newsletter, we may be sending you frequent promotional offers that might be specific or offered by third party as exclusive membership benefits. The emails would be sent out from our domain and at no cost your email would be disclosed to any third party.

The Online Directory of Former Students

Accessibility
The Online Directory of Former Students is accessible only to paying Active members of The LAA Association. Your personal information is kept in a secure database that is only accessible to Admin/working Committe.

Information Shared
The information displayed in the Online Directory contains fields such as your name, address, zip code, phone number, employer, and other statistics regarding you. As stated previously, this information is only available to Active members of The LAA Association. The database is not sold or made available for commericial solicitation or political purposes. It is maintained by The Association.

Information Use
The Online Directory of Former Students is not intended for marketing or political purposes. If The Association has reason to believe that any user is utilizing the Directory for unauthorized purposes, The Association will terminate that users access to the Directory immediately. If you have questions about usage of the Directory, or if you feel you have been solicited as a result of your inclusion in the Directory, please contact The Association.

This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration/donation form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number,Banking Information and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL . While on a secure page, such as our donation form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just ‘surfing’. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, records processing and our web team) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users’ personally identifiable information. This can usually be done at the Editing your profile or by emailing or contacting us.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected. If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email.
